Accessibility statement for the International Symposium on Military Operational Research (ISMOR) Archive

This statement applies to the International Symposium on Military Operational Research (ISMOR) Archive website.

This website is run by Cranfield University Library Service. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Many of the older PDFs and other files may not be accessible to keyboard or screen reader users.
  • Due to the lack of structure in our pages, it may be difficult to tab through our content using a keyboard or to navigate using a screen reader.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Cranfield University Library Service is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • There are many old PDF documents which may not have been made accessible when they were published. We have no plans to replace these due to the exceptions stated below.
  • There is inadequate colour contrast for the search site box text, or on the table headings. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 (minimum contrast).
  • Accesskeys are present which may conflict with user or assistive technology shortcut keys. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.1 (bypass blocks).
  • The pages have not been structured into regions with ARIA landmarks to help users of assistive technology to navigate the screen. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (info and relationships).
  • We have a number of redundant links which fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 (link purpose in context).

Disproportionate burden

This section is not applicable.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

  • The purpose of this website is to provide an archive of documents from symposia that took place between 1984-2014, and as such, has not been updated. As this content isn't essential to our service provision, this makes it exempt from the accessibility regulations.
  • The PDFs and other files were published before 23 September 2018 and are exempt from the accessibility regulations.
